11 Long Months

Eleven months ago you came into our lives. We have loved you, bathed you, wiped away your tears, and soothed your boo-boos. We can't believe you are almost one. Today, on your 11 month birthday you are crawling everywhere! You are into everything. You scream, you cut-up, and you love chasing your big sister around the house. Happy Eleven Month Birthday Baby! One more month until your not really a baby anymore. We love you very much! ~Daddy, Mama, & Addy

One blog, two blogs, three blogs, four....

Sorry it's been a couple of weeks or maybe it hasn't. There are a few things that have been going on in the McGhee household besides being bored off our socks. Summers are crazy here for sure.

BABY D

Addison and Aniston were dedicated on Sunday, June 21 (Father's Day at our church). We never got to dedicate Addison as a baby (we were at the beach that Sunday), so we finally got our chance and I'm so glad we waited because we got to dedicate them both together at our amazing church. Which is by the way, Auburn Church, it's awesome, everyone should go there and it's where the cool people hang out! ;) Anyway, we dedicated our babies saying that we, together with our church, would partner with them to help our children have and understand a full, awesome, close relationship with the Lord. We can't be more excited about that! What happens at home is much more important than what happens at church. But at church, they teach them that God made them, God Loves them, and that Jesus wants to be thier friend forever. I have realized through this experience that God loves my children more than I do. That is truley so hard to believe and so amzing at the same time. "Thank you Jesus for giving us our beautiful girls, they mean the world to us, and we promise that we will always take the best care and try to make the right choices with the gifts that YOU have given us. Amen"

FP..who? U
Adam and I started FPU (Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University) two weeks ago. Boy, has it been an eye opener. If you have never gotten the oportunity to take this course..do it! It has been the most challenging two weeks ever for us, we have gotten into fights more in the last two weeks than the last 11 years we have been together. But what we have realized is...is that we don't have control over our money, our money has control over us. Our bills are paid, we have plenty left over, but sometimes we ask ourselves where did it all go? Well we are slowly getting that back in check and we are very excited about it. We want to "live 'now' like no one else, so that later we can LIVE like no one else. AWESOME!

ADDISON'S A BIG GIRL!

My baby is growing up. She turned three in May and she's starting to use the bathroom...and wait for it...now she has a big girl bed. We are so proud of her! She sleeps great in it and most importantly she thinks she's hot stuff!
OFF FOR VACAY
Now our family is back to the beach for some great memories. Happy 4th of July...our country is great. Can't wait for fun in the sun, parade, and fireworks..which means there will be more pics to be coming soon.
Love ya'll.

So..It's all up to God now..

First of all it has been a while since I have seen 11:51 at night. My Aniston will be 10 mos old on Wednesday and has been sleeping "through the night" (I use that very loosely) for a while now. I totally can't sleep. God has things on my mind and I feel like my brain is racing 40 miles an hour. Adam got an incredible opportunity today to interview for a position at work. This job would open up so many doors for our family. Adam has been wanting to take on more responsibility within his job for a while now and this job would allow for that. He deserves to have this one chance. Adam tirelessly provides for our family, gets up at night with the girls so I can sleep in, and is a constant servant for others. I pray that God will allow him this opportunity to show what else he can do in his job. I am so excited for what the future may hold and will keep you posted on what happens. Please pray that Adam will have the wisdom to say the right things and the recipients will have open minds. It's all up to God now...

Happy Birthday Addison and Adam!

Well it's antoher birthday. My is chalk full of dates that are so important. Last weekend we celebrated Adam's 29th birthday (one more till old age) and Adam's moms' birthday. Tomorrow will be my big babies birthday. SHE IS THREE. I certainly can't explain how time flies by. It feels like I just had her. I am so proud of her. She makes me smile everyday. She is learning her letters, sounds, making words, and all sorts of other things that makes a teacher (like her mommy) proud. She will be going with me to Pre-K this summer as I get our new Kindergarteners ready for school. I know she will get even "bigger" over the summer. Last weekend we had her birthday party. We were joined with all of our friends and family, minus a few.....the Kinnamons, the Garnetts, the Cabantacs, and the Estes. We missed ya'll! We still had a great time. Fun with a new bouncy house, presents, a mermaid cake, balloons, and food. We had the best time. Thank you to all the people that came and made it a special day for our family. We love you!

Just catching up on other things......

Aniston is nine months old...and crawling all over the place. School is offically out for the summer and I can't be more excited! I spent all day yesterday and today cleaning out my old room. I will be embarking on a new adventure next year..FIRST GRADE! I'm looking forward to working with some amazing people, but also sad to leave some behind. I am so thankful to have a great job and do something that I love. There is nothing like the feeling of waving "bye" to a whole bunch of kids on a school bus the last day of school. It was GREAT!

Now we are off for a little vacay time. The fam is headed to the beach for 8 days...can't wait. There's packing for two children and a husband, not to mention me. I am amazed that it can even be done. Off for now....

Sick, Sick and More Sick

The last week has been super hard for the McGhee Family. Where do I begin? Last weekend my mom and I decided (on a whim) that we would take a quick trip to the beach. We got there and were having a blast, that is until Aniston got a fever. She had been running one for a couple of days, but just 99.1. We just thought it was teething, I mean it was only one degree over normal. Well it just keep progressing. We called the after hours nurse, she said it was most likely a "fever virus" since she had no other symptoms. So, Sunday morning we drove home and by the time we got home her fever was 103.4. We took her in to see the fine doctor at the Ped Clinic. They checked her over, and couldn't find anything, that is, until they checked her urine. She had a kidney infection. Doctor thinks she may have what's called Urinary Reflux. Where the bladder draws in urine when after using the bathroom. She will have tests run on May 5th to see what may be going on. She is doing well now, her infection is gone. But they will still need to do a Cat Scan and a urinary ultrasound. Please pray for her safety and our soundness to help her when she is in need.

Now on the the other one. Friday on the way to school, Addison says "Mommy, I don't want these snacks."...I look behind me, and there she blows.....literally. She puked everywhere. That is the moment when you know...I am a mother, I can handle anything. You just pick up the pieces, find a way to work around it. I did a U-turn in the road and headed back home. She has a "fever virus" now. What are the chances right? Well, shes doing well too. It's just Addison is the type of child that throws up when shes sick, no matter if its ears, throat, fever, stomach..whatever, she's throwing up.

I'm not sure what our household holds for us next. We put our house up for sale Monday. (It's been a busy week). Please pray that God will show us the right plan for us. We have 18 days of school left. I have NO idea what grade I will teach next year, it could be kindergarten again, could be first, second, or third. NO IDEA!!! It's killing me. I know God has my best interest in mind. Keep our family in your thoughts and prayers....until next time...peace.

Woa!...It's been a long time...

Sorry its been so long. We have been the busiest family ever! With work, baths, dinner, group, and family time...it makes me tired just to have typed all of that. So I guess I will catch everyone up..posting a few new pictures. And I promise I'll try harder on the blogging thing!

So spring is finally here! Aniston turned 7 months yesterday. It is so hard to believe she's still mine. She has grown up so fast already. Addison is being such a good sister. She plays with Aniston and makes sure that I know when she is crying (but I think that's because she wants her to stop). It snowed here a few weeks ago. That was the first snow Addison had ever really seen. She played and played. She got really frustrated when her hands and feet got wet and frozen though. Anyway, back to now---This week is spring break. It's the first week really that I have been home MANY days with two children. Are you sensing my frustration? Every time I put Aniston down for a nap, Addison screams "Mommy"..and then I'm back into Aniston's room..sshhhing her. I'm not sure how many of my friends do it with more than one. The family is great. Other than a few colds and allergies...we're doing great! This past weekend we spent in Atlanta going to the World of Coke and the Georgia Aquarium. That was one of the best times I've had in a long time. The Aquarium was awesome! We went to the Titanic Exhibit and through all of the fish exhibits. Addison had the best time and she got to stay in a hotel (that had an indoor pool). We had to run to the nearest Target and buy a new "baby soup" otherwise known as a bathing suit. We had a great time. It was great spending quality time away from home together.

Work is great too! Although I needed the break. I am so proud of my students! They have come a long way. Some of them didn't know colors, shapes, letters, sounds...not to mention a word. Now, most of them are reading. They all hold a special place in my heart. I am so greatful for the experiences that I have everyday with them.

Church is awesome..wouldn't you know! Our new facility is under construction. It's going to be great. We are so thankful for Auburn Church. The people are wonderful, they are truly becoming a part of our family. Our small group is wonderful, we ae becoming more and more transparent over time. Our group has faced some hard times lately, job loss, family health, etc. We continue to keep them in our prayers. They mean so much to us. We will be parting from this group before summer, taking the summer off, and then birthing in the fall. I am already not looking forward to it! I hope under the circumstances we will continue to be close friends. If you are interested in visiting our church we are located now at Grand National Marriot. But are awesome new location is on Shug Jordan...and we are furvently praying that it will open on Easter Sunday. The best Sunday!!! Check it out....www.auburnchurchonline.org

Addison got a new bike yesterday. She wants to ride it all the time. She even fell in the driveway and she got right back on. I'm so proud of her. She and Aniston are everything I ever wanted in children. I love them with all my heart...sometimes it's so overwhelming.

Well we are all good..for now...I'm sure there is a princess meltdown coming soon. I promise I'll keep everything updated!!! Bye for now!

Our Little Girl is a Dancer....

We are so excited, Addison has started dancing. We will make sure we post undated pics. She twirls, rolls, waves, and shakes.
She's a natural!!

This is her waving her sash. She has the best time at dancing and best of all, her mommy is with her. On the right is Addison in the back, and her new friend Ansley in the front. They were buddies from the beginning.

The Four McGhee's

When Adam and I found out we were pregnant with our second child, we were very excited and nervous. I think I had a panic attack that night. Ofcourse it was the day before Christmas Eve. It was an adventurous pregnancy, loaded with aches and pains, and the occasional heart burn. As the time arrived to have her, we started to prepare her big sister, Addison. Although she loved the idea of babies, I don't think she quite knew one was about the rock her world. No one ever prepared us for the joy, the excitment, and the frustration that two children would bring to our lives. But we are so greatful that God sent her our way. She is truly a blessing from God. She was born August 17, 2008 weighing 7 lbs. 9 ounces 21 inches long born at 4:58 pm.
